Somerville Ikea moves forward

The Globe reports today that an agreement has been reached between the developers of the mixed-use development planned for Somerville's Assembly Square and the neighborhood organization that has been opposed. The Mystic View Task Force has agreed to drop their lawsuits blocking the development and the proposed Ikea store in return for a pledge from the developers to contribute $15 million for a new T stop adjacent to the development. It's a big step forward, but we're still years away from that Ikea store opening its doors.

Here's a previous post that describes the first step in this compromise.
