Following the Greenway

WBUR has been running a two-part story on the progress of the Rose Kennedy Greenway yesterday and today. The Chinatown park opened recently, the North End park will be officially opened later this month, and the Wharf District park is scheduled to open by the end of the year. While these parks are open and green, much of the landscaping is temporary and controversy continues to swirl around several sites. The second part of the story (aired this morning) discusses Parcel 13, which is currently controlled by the Armenian Heritage Foundation who would like to put in a memorial to 1915. While there is a lot of green this fall, the whole Greenway isn't expected to be fully planted and in place until this time next year. And the parcels are likely to continue to evolve over the next few years.

The best part of WBUR's coverage is the interactive site with a well done Google Maps mashup and 360* panorama photographs of the three main parks.
