Herald Square condos

A major site is opening up in Boston. The Boston Herald has agreed to a joint venture with National Development to develop the newspaper's headquarters on the edge of Chinatown. The 6.6 acre site is "a terrific gateway location" according to National Development's chief. They are anticipating a mixed-use development with retail, office and condo (no surprise there). In the meantime, the Herald will be relocating its offices and printing operation. They are talking to Dow Jones & Co about printing at a Dow Jones location in Western Mass, but no deals have been signed. The Herald has six years to find a new location and get settled in before the wrecking ball starts in on One Herald Square.
