New Year's revelry on Broadway in 1908.

The NY Times had a nice article on the history of the famous ball drop, which had its centennial this year. The first electric lighted ball was dropped in Times Square in 1907.

Of course, down here in Raleigh, the City of Oaks, we drop a giant bronze acorn.

Hang in there, Bostonians! It's got to stop snowing some time...
