Shaking up the Merrimack Valley

20071010Earthquake.gifSome of our Merrimack Valley friends may have felt Monday morning's earthquake (!). It registered 1.8 on the Richter scale, not all that strong but enough to rattle some plates and make a loud booming noise. Apparently, the quake was an aftershock of the 5.5 magnitude quake in 1727 that was centered in Newburyport (there has been a history of sporadic rumblings).
